In 2010, Mark Collins’ family-owned plumbing business became a 1-800-PLUMBER +AIR franchise. They knew they needed a name behind the quality service they were already providing and the 1-800-PLUMBER +AIR brand was a perfect fit. Then in 2015, Mark acquired the 1-800-Plumber +Air brand and started offering the franchising option in 2017. Mark is a 5th generation master plumber whose plumbing roots date back to 1905. The Collins’ history has given Mark the experience and understanding that customers want. This experience and understanding have been the backbone of the 1-800-Plumber +Air success model that is being implemented throughout the country. Transitioning from franchisee to franchisor has given Mark the unique perspective to ensure that the systems he has built are always in the best interest of the local franchise owner and the brand.

How many trucks should I start out with?

We don’t limit the amount of trucks that you get started with. Most operators get started with 2 trucks and grow their fleet from there over time. It’s not important with how many you get started with but the plan to figure out how many you will end up with.

How much is the 1-800-Plumber +Air franchise fee?

The initial franchise fee for one territory is $54,500 with each additional territory discounted to $44,500. If you’re an existing plumbing or HVAC company wishing to convert your business to our brand, your franchise fee will be $34,500 for the first territory and $29,500 for each additional territory.

We let our franchisees speak for themselves. During the on-boarding process, we’ll give you the opportunity to reach out to several of our owners to discuss the industry and the brand.

How long is the franchise agreement for? Can I renew it?

Accepted Answer

The franchise agreement is for 10 years. At the end of those 10 years, we’ll provide you with an option to renew for another 10 years. Our goal is to bring in strong owners that will be part of our brand for decades.

Is there a brand development fee? How do I benefit from it?

Yes. All 1-800-Plumber +Air franchisees are required to pay 2% of their gross sales towards our brand development fee. This fee is collected and invested into our infrastructure designed to take the 1-800-Plumber +Air brand into new markets. This goes into TV commercials, radio commercials, print and digital asset collateral, website maintenance and more.

Do you offer financing?

We do not provide in-house financing for our franchisees. However, we do have a number of strategic finance partners to discuss which financing option is best for you.

Are there any hidden fees that I would have to pay?

Along with our monthly royalty and brand development fees, the only other fee paid to us is our tech fee which is $100 per month. All of the other fees are mentioned inside our item 6 chart in our FDD.
